A privately owned endodontic practice is seeking a motivated and compassionate Endodontic Assistant to join its collaborative team. Position Overview:
The Endodontic Assistant plays a key role in supporting both the provider and the patient throughout the treatment process. You’ll assist the endodontist during various procedures including root canal therapy, surgical retreatments, and apicoectomies. Your responsibilities will include clinical chairside assistance, sterilization and infection control, patient education, and light administrative tasks. The position offers hands-on involvement in both routine and advanced procedures and provides an excellent opportunity to gain expertise in endodontic technologies, such as the GentleWave system.
The ideal candidate will be energetic, organized, and patient-focused, with a willingness to work closely with the endodontist and support staff to maintain a smooth and efficient clinical schedule.
Key Responsibilities:

Assist during endodontic procedures (root canals, apicoectomies, retreatments)

Prepare treatment rooms and sterilize instruments according to OSHA standards

Take and develop digital radiographs

Manage daily patient flow and maintain an efficient clinical schedule

Provide pre- and post-procedure patient education and instructions

Document procedures and maintain accurate treatment records

Ensure a high standard of chairside etiquette and patient comfort

Assist with front-office tasks such as scheduling and patient communication when needed

Participate in team meetings and stay informed on current endodontic techniques and technologies
Qualifications and Preferences:

Prior dental assisting experience preferred, though entry-level candidates will be considered and trained

Certification in Dental Assisting (CDA) or equivalent is a plus

Familiarity with endodontic procedures and the GentleWave system is a bonus

Strong understanding of sterilization and infection control practices

Excellent organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks

Compassionate, patient-focused attitude with strong interpersonal communication skills

Proficiency in using dental software and digital radiography

Must possess a valid driver’s license

Physically able to stand for extended periods and assist with patient positioning
Schedule:

Monday–Thursday: 7:30 AM – 5:00 PM (1-hour lunch break)

Rotating Half-Day Fridays: 7:30 AM – 12:00 PM

No weekend or evening shifts required
Compensation and Benefits:

Hourly pay: $17.00 – $23.00, depending on experience
